The Tool / Bar

This part has two functions:

Tool: A compact 10mm wrench for securing your pre-adjustments for specific string thickness. When the pre-adjustments are done and secured, it's quick and easy to install the Maqiano on any strings with the same thickness.

Bar: This same part also works as a level steel surface that helps fastening Maqiano on the lower strings of upright piano - instead the pressure bar that is usually above the strings in the middle register.

This part is not necessary if you just play your own grand piano, and you have a small 10mm open-end wrench to tighten the nut securing your adjustments.

You'd most probably need it if you use Maqiano also on upright pianos and/or you are touring and don't want to carry your wrench with you. Unlike most wrenches, this is less than 6cm long, so it's allowed as cabin luggage on flights.
